The Land of Grimney - The Illustrated Adventures of Cora Pearl, aged 12

We all of us, myself included, at times bemoan the state of our lives, that life is hard, we hate our jobs etc etc. So today please spare a thought for the miners trapped in the Swansea Valley and for their families who know that someone is dead but not who. Suddenly sitting at a desk or chasing after the kids doesn't seem so bad!
I tried to write a poem about it but I just don't have the words, I'm sure someone like Redvilst will do it beautifully.
I used to belong to a cave rescue team, so I know a little of what it is like for them. The darkness is so complete it's like nothing you have ever experienced, Imagine standing in a sports hall with a black velvet hood over your face, sound is distorted, you cannot tell where it is coming from, drips of water sound like footsteps and running water can sound like the murmer of voices approaching, so you imagine your rescuers are approaching only to have hopes dashed when you realise it's only the water. Time stands still 5 minutes can feel like and hour and the cold seeps into your bones.
So wherever you are and whatever your doing stop for a moment close your eyes and ask whatever god you pray to, to keep the rest of these men safe.

Just heard that 2 of the miners have been found dead and neither identified, my heart goes out to the families, so so sad
