As she peered through the rain splashed glass, the drizzle creating mini streams down the cold pane. Her warm breath left a cloud of hope, as she lay her forehead upon it.
Gazing out at her garden the streams distorted the perfect image that she had conjured up in her mind. It was dull and grey, the day had started off this way. She longed to see an array of bright welcoming flowers, grass so soft it would cuddle you when you lay upon it. Birds that would bathe and splash whilst singing merrily . Ever hopeful she prayed the sun would break through the concrete clouds and wipe away the grey.
She lay on the couch and listened to the patter of raindrops on the roof, and slowly lulled her to sleep.

"Helen" someone whispered. She stirred gently, "Helen" the voice almost sang her name, It was the gentle breeze that made her open her eyes.
She sleepily rubbed them and the bright warming sun shone straight down upon her. She looked from side to side, completely bewildered as to how she come to be asleep in her garden, although more than happy the sun had made an appearance."Helen" came the voice again. Sitting up she questioned "who's there?".
"it's us" the voices replied. A straying bramble quivered it's leaves and the pretty raindrops giggled. The sun shone through them they glowed and sparkled red, blue and green.
This is impossible she thought as her eyes purveyed her garden, she squeezed them tightly in disbelief.
Delight washed over her as she took in the wondrous beauty, the half dead vines that clung to the rickety trellis had bloomed, the flowers with heavy heads lifted to the sun and the light pierced their silky petals. The pond was alive, the water danced and sparkled like the raindrops that swam in it's warm depths. The crinkly old leaves that had once clung to the edge of the dried pond had unraveled into the brightest green canopy's. The grass as she walked hugged her bare toes, and the vines drooped low to brush against her passing shoulders.
Birds danced in the grass to a silent tune as the began working at something, two butterflies floated passed her like colourful leaves, so delicate as they fluttered they blew a scented breeze her way. Fluttering to the birds they lifted between them what seemed to be an amazing crown of tied flowers, flying higher they placed it upon her head of perfect curls. Wildlife she had never seen there before came to greet her, rabbits with the floppiest ears, foxes with the bushiest tails, deers standing proud, the bird perched on a high up branch and sang her glorious melodies she was warm inside and out, her heart beat with every chirp and flutter, her smile the widest it had ever been and her eyes glistened with a magic sparkle.....
