Her heart thumped against her rib cage, her breath staggered, icy fear escaping her lips. Shaking, her hands grasped and clung to the moss covered stones darkness surrounded her. Eyes wide searching deep in to the darkness for an escape, Holding back tears and breakdown her feet inching forward silently to make no sound. The deep terrifying growl that echoed throught this cave like place, kept her moving on, every step as though set inside concrete shoes. Her body tense, pressed tightly against the damp moss stones sent shivers through out her body. Perspiration pricked her forehead, breathing erratic, mind confused, is that light up ahead?
The moss she clung too dampened her hands making her fingers slip, nails gouged into the moss desperate not to lose grip.
A rolling pebble made her freeze. Blind eyes shut tightly, her bottom lip quivered, listening so hard she fought through her own imagination, it seemed too quiet the growls had ceased all she could hear now, was the heavy pound of her own heart.
With every step she prayed to be closer, closer to light, closer to freedom, closer to anything but this.
As though from inside her own mind, a growl began to roll. Spinning on her heels sheer terror enveloped her, her mouth agape, eyes staring, her hand still shakily clinging to her only hope of a way out.
There it stood the monster, the beast, the dragon. As she thought to make a bolt for it, the creature seemed to read her thoughts, rearing up on it's hind legs, inhaling a thunderous growl, Her legs would not move now, frozen to the spot she fell to her knees. As the creatures mighty claws smashed into the concrete around her, instinct buried her face into her hands. Had her heart stopped? Most unfortunate, it had not.
She peered between her fingers, she shook. The creature appeared to bare a grin and display it's deadly bite. Mirrored daggers gleamed from it's mouth. It's chest was weaved in blue and green scales, the ferocious beast lowered it's head and she felt the hot breath escape its nostrils, against the now dripping perspiration on her forehead.
The mighty creature rose once more and she let out a piercing scream, it inhaled a growl that echoed throught the maze of dark dank caves, falling back she grappled for something to cling to, something to hide behind, but nothing.
Flames bellowed from the monsters jaws, rolling and flickering towards her, the heat penetrated her skin as she lay writhing in agony all went quiet, through the seering pain she was convinced the creature had left. Laying in silence, deadly silence she fell still.
What seemed like a life time had passed before she braved to move, wincing as the agony exploded through her, moans escaping her lips. Trying to open her eyes, were they sealed shut? Raising her hands to her face she felt for the wax like mangle of charred flesh, there was none, her hair the same, still all in tact, slowly she forced her eyelids to do as her mind requested and a familiar sight met her eyes, the same white artex ceiling that she had slept under, the uplight, the wardrobe and desk. The sun shone through the open curtains and soaked into her skin, closing her eyes she sighed a sigh of grateful relief. Throwing back her heavy duvet she place her feet to the floor...

Excellent work. Needs a bit of editing, but you have imagination, tension, and a believable conclusion. I am really looking forward to your next piece.

You aren't Keona, by any chance, are you? Someone I know from another forum.
