*In the smoky atmosphere the soldiers drink, smoke, play cobble sticks and gamble with dice. The men are a rough looking crowd, but jovial in nature. A wheeze of laughter echoes around the large room as the men joke and tell tales of old adventures*.

Captain Grey, this insubordination reflects badly on you. See to it that Karn is disciplined and I expect that he will receive more scars by the time you have finished. If your men show such rudeness again you personally will be sent to guard the prison camps in the ice lands. *He looks at the soldiers* Darl Thranmere has a great honour for those that are chosen. Princess Philomena is to visit her father's castle, and those chosen will be her armed escort. No doubt you will be treated well by her family and on your return you will receive double rations and an extra three days of leave to spend in the nearest pleasure house. *He turns to Darl and speaks in a low voice* Are you sure this is what you want? Princess Philomena will not be able to bear you a son if she is absent from your bed. You had just started to get some obedience from her, if she leaves now then you may lose control of her forever... Father a child on the Princess and she will be bound to you by more than duty. |
