Oh, how lovely it is to be here with all of you. I haven't had time to meet everybody. Wayland has been kind enough to visit. I hope he enjoyed my hospitality. Now then, it seems there has been some confusion about certain gathering boys ending up at my humble abode. Well, I call it humble. It is actually very much alive with happiness and positively bursting with opulence. Not only do I run the best boarding house in and around Grimney, I am very well known for my wonderful sense of humour and eagerness to help anybody who needs assistance. Please do come and visit the gathering boy who chose to come and live here with me Elvira. He lives a very happy and structured life here with me. I've always believed young boys and girls need good and decent mothering until they are quite old. You probably didn't realise how improperly you were treating him. It's not your fault dear and I have spent many long years becoming the lovely and jolly person I am today. I really don't blame you one little bit. You will learn. Just come and see how much happier your boy is here. Tanza? How is your mother dear? I heard she was quite ill. I heard she was bordering on insanity. I also heard your father was in town a few nights ago. Such a shame you turned out the way you did. How about we get together for a little girly chat one day next week? I'd love to catch up with all the gossip and I know you really do have lots to share. Nydas, Nydas - you are as lovely as ever. Such a sweet voice and so gracious in your wisdom. I hope the gathering boy episode didn't change your opinion of me too much. Maybe the company you keep is starting to encourage you rather too easily into the darkness we all try our best to retreat from. As I have often said, rudeness and nastiness are not good ways to resolve a situation. Nor is eating people who don't like you. I think everyone should try to be more like me. Everybody likes me and everybody respects me and there isn't a single person who wouldn't want to actually be me - not being bigheaded or anything. Oh Hogsy!! You naughty little boy, eating your friend. I remember when you were just a tiny little ogret. Such a sweetheart. Come over sometime for a big booby cuddle like you used to. You always did like to nestle into my bosems as I laughed at your jokes. Oh I miss those days. Must go - cakes to bake and young boys to cuddle. Ta ta for now! |

Mrs West, I'm glad you could join us. I know you are very busy, it is good of you. I have a favour to ask. I saw that you have a good crop of dragonberries. I enjoy them for their spiciness. I wonder if you could spare a kep or two? In return, I am willing to tend your garden for an afternoon. |

I would like to say that I cannot believe you're disrespecting my beautiful mother yet AGAIN! However, I'm not surprised in the least. You know nothing of her and her illness...you only know what you've been told. How dare you speak of her at all? As for turning out the way I did...you used to be so sickly sweet to my father...even though you knew who and what he was. I wouldn't be surprised if you, yourself, have been sharing his pit on occasion. Watch out...the insanity you speak of will soon be yours too if you cannot resist. Yeah...of course I'll pop round to have a chat one day next week! Like Hell I will!...hag! Gathering boys? Where are your own children Mrs CHEST! Always ready to take in other children, but never had any of your own. I think a call to Ye Olde Childe Line is in order. You may fool everyone else with your sweet-natured guise, but I've known you for a long time. You know...my mother would probably like to have a little chat with you. Why don't you visit her...soon. Why thank you ever so for your kind invitation Mrs West, but I have to decline. There's only so much saccharine a person can cope with. Really, I'm having to scrape it off with a sharp knife. The Boy made his choice, he's on his own. Although I do feel a twinge of sympathy for him. Does he know he's living with someone that has a wonderful sense of humour and uses the word jolly to describe themselves?! But each to to their own, I'm sure you'll be super happy  I'm disturbed to hear that Nydas is in danger of darkness. It's lucky that she's got me and Tanza to watch out for her. We can spot darkness in all its guises |

Wayland...you cannot heal my mother. My father watches over her and will destroy you in a second. Many far more powerful than you have tried and failed. Her destiny is already set in stone and cannot be changed. Elvira...I know you will not take Mrs West's words to heart. Something smells rather fishy round here and I know who my money's on. Excuse me while I vomit on her shoes. Sorry...old habits die hard. |
