That's just the kind of thing I'd like to do. Work in a bar. Now I know that I might not be entirely suitable. But hear me out. Firstly, I'm attractive, the punters will love me. Secondly I can kick like a mule. So no messing. I'm also very flexible, physically and hours wise. I've just gone through a really messy relationship breakup, the sex was good, but that was about it. You know I've got two kids, and you wouldn't think it to look at me. I'm not sucking anything in either. Thirdly, I laugh at all jokes, even the bad ones. And I can spit like a man. So... When shall I start? And what's the pay structure? Holidays, you know, what about those?

You seen Jett about? Said I would tell him when the mermaid gave birth, well she has and it is a girl. Golden hair and big eyes like her mother. Suppose you could say she is quite sweet for a baby, healthy set of lungs when she bawls... Not that it is the child he cares about, I mean Vortigern isn't exactly a family man now is he? Anyway, if you see him, tell him... He won't get anywhere near Philomena either, she is being guarded by four or five knights. If he has any sense he would leave them alone, it is clear that she wants a family with that Kalvos guy. Love never does anyone any good.

That's good news that. Her having a daughter. Although boys better. Work a lot harder. Girls fuss too much over their looks. That's where mine went wrong. She didn't like getting her hands dirty.

Yeah babies are all right I suppose, tie you down though. All mermaids care about is how they look, I like Philomena but she doesn't half preen. Bet the daughter will be like the mother, so beautiful she turns men like Vortigern and Kalvos into fools... Squabbling like schoolboys over a toy.

Thanks don't mind if I do. I never much cared for babies, and they get bigger and become even more of a nuisance.
