Are you deaf Carados? Or just ignorant as your reputation suggests.

Good evening Kalvos! Come, sit. We have much to discuss.

*Carados speaks as he is removing the necklace. Everyone watches intently to see what happens to Philomena.

Darling there are always rumors when you are royalty. Do not let that bother you. Here, the necklace is off.

Kalvos! Why are you speaking to my father like that. You have no right! I thought we were friends.

Philomena, let him rant. I am here for you not him.

*A large guard approaches Kalvos and folds his arms. A second guard stands by the door. Two others are motioned inside.

Now let me look at that pendant. I saw a small imperfection.

*Carados ignores Kalvos an examines the necklace.

Imperfection? How can it be? It is as perfect as my love for you, father.

*He looks uneasily at Philomena and tries to smile*.

Trust me Philomena.

*Kalvos stands back near the open door and places his hand upon his sword hilt, he watches the room, his eyes flick back from the faces of the guards*.

Please toss that necklace out of the window Carados. Garli is outside, she'll pick it up and keep it safe.

*He smiles*.

And call off your dogs. Shayle is upstairs. Do you want her involved too?

Philomena, You must let me take it for repair. I cannot have my perfect daughter wearing anything but the finest. Would you like to go with me to the jeweler? He resides near the Clock tower.

*She steps forward and places herself between Kalvos and her father.*

Why are you being so aggressive Kalvos? My father is allowing you to remain my lover.

*The mermaid looks at her father.*

I shall go wherever you ask.

*Carados puts his arm out for Philomena to take hold. He walks her towar the door.

No. Philomena is going nowhere with you friend. Now toss it out of the window. And do it now.

*Kalvos moves to Philomena's side and takes hold of her other arm and draws his sword*.

I will cut down the first person who tries to remove Philomena from this tavern....
