My stomach is rumbling. Kalvos is not a coward, what has he to be afraid of? Other than the mermaid's wrath. Is the stew cooking? I prefer not to ask, but I cannot resist. What other man?

I hope so Meadow as Garli and I were so looking forward to being bridesmaids.

Other man... I meant her father, she has only just met him and I think she loves him more than her proud heart would admit.... But you have a point she is very angry with Kalvos , if she bumped into her old flame Vortigern I imagine she would give Kalvos good reason to be jealous.
And Kalvos is a coward when it comes to upsetting Philomena. Why do you think he is not here?

Kalvos said there was an issue with the father. He did not say what it was. I suspect he needed to discuss it with Sir Robert.

My mistress tries to escape the strict etiquette and scrutiny of court life. She is hounded by the press in Gollema, they never allow her a scrap of personal life. She can be free here and she is surrounded by water.

Petulant? You should not judge her. The reunion with her father was fraught and she is desperate to keep him safe... I bet she has sought Vortigern's help, after Kalvos he is the man she relies on most.

I shall return the ring when he arrives. I shall take a room. I have spent too much time in the Borderlands putting down troublesome uprisings against our Queen, I was hoping for a little peace and tranquility, but alas I fear it is not to be.

I have little interest in love affairs, Kalvos would have been better served had he remained in the Queen's Elite. Far less strife. I shall pay you later for your hospitality. But now I must rest. Thank you for your service.

My mistress has sacrificed her duty for him too. She should have married a merman prince and returned to the sea. Still... Perhaps she will now. Lady Evarne has been called to treat the wounded, I imagine she will try to persuade the princess to return to her duty... Kalvos will lose her forever.

No, Her Grace is tending to her father and intends to go into hiding with him once he has recovered. The Princess is frightened and upset. She thinks the tavern is no longer safe for her now the knights have arrived.
*Arabella is folding tea towels*
And Kalvos is yet to arrive to sort out the mess he has made.
