Hello folks! Good to see the forum alive with poems and chat! Well done all!...

I have often thought about this, and just wondered what others think. If you could have a fantasy dinner party who would you invite? Living, or dead, fantasy figure or real person? Who would you have sat around the table? What food would you serve? I'm partial to sausage and mash! :P

For me it would have to be.

Oscar Wilde
Peter Ustinov
Audrey Hepburn
Peter Sellers
Marilyn Monroe
Elizabeth Taylor
Michael Caine

And my dinner date partner would have to be Audrey Hepburn.

What are your thoughts?

Hmm, I posted, it was here, then... Disappeared! So I'll try again:

JESUS CHRIST. Not a comment, my first guest.

MARY SHELLEY. Very creative story teller.

VOCTOR BORGE to entertain. Yep, I'm asking talented guests to share their talent. Of course, they have the option to refuse...

CARY GRANT.

NEIL ARMSTRONG, because I'd like to finally put rumors of a faked moon landing to rest.

The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES... 100 years in the future.

TED STARON. That's my dad. He was the nicest, most charming man I've ever known. I'd like to spend another evening with him, and he was always the life of any party.

"Dinner" would be a tasting menu made up of favorite dishes of each guest. So when they all R.S.V.P., I'll let you all know what they are.

Who's next?

Waycyber...haha...eight invites...who's sitting on whose lap??!

Of course, I would have to invite Ricky Gervais and Kathy Burke...so I could sit them opposite each other and talk screenplays!

Laurel and Hardy would be fantastic at filling any awkard silences with their own silent hilarity.

Alf and Else Garnett would be a definite too. They would probably moan at each other the whole time, but that's okay...and nobody does the knowing and sarcastic eyebrow lift like Dandy Nichols.

Jo Brand would be my personal guest. I could listen to her put the world to rights for as long as it takes.

We would all eat each other...but, somehow, I'd be the only one left at the end...what did you expect?!

What a great thought...
I'm going to cheat a little bit and go for entertainment personalities only, and I'd have to host a Clue (1985 film) style dinner party I think just so I can start my list with:

Tim Curry - the sinister host

Followed by:
Vincent Price - the psychotic millionaire
Marilyn Monroe - just a beautiful Doris, or is she?
Robert Downey Junior - reprobate
Spike Milligan - crazy uncle to Marilyn
Bill Bailey - fortune hunter
Ronnie Barker - The staff..all of them
Tommy Cooper - the long lost brother of the host

Fun, fun, fun!!

Thanks Tanza! Please don't waste any tears on me.....keep them in a jar and I'll make a potion for you

I've been popping in and reading the great stuff going on in here now. Didn't have anything of value to add to most of it! And got 3 tales on the go, A Matter of Perspective in the members area, another one that's part 2 of a series that I may sell for cash money AND Anna goes to Grimney is getting updated. Add to that fighting off the rampaging Wheybeast that's sneaking through the portals, channelling echoes of Cora and dreaming outlines of some new magic, well, I've been a busy little 'chantress :D

How did you enjoy your 8 morsel snack? I hear there's a bar somewhere in Grimney where one of the dishes on the menu is called a Tanza Surprise. No-one has dared order it yet in case you turn out to be the surprise and they end up getting eaten
