As a denizen of Milton Keynes, I am a member of a writers group called Speakeasy that meets 1st Friday in the month. I also perform poetry at Poetry Kapow! in Wolverton from time to time.

What about others? Do you mix with other story tellers, bards, oders, playwrights, poets, yarn spinners, diatribe deliverers, balladeers and the like?

I am afraid I am in no such groups.

Being completly new to trying to write poems, stories etc,
I haven't even told my family about Grimney. I think they'd laugh.

Hopefully I'll get the courage some day.

But its my little secret for now. ;)

I used to belong to Solent Writers Circle (based in Lee on Solent) but do not have time to attend now due to pressing musical/academic/family commitments (in no particular order). I did find it a really useful place though and do intend to go back one day!

There is a great poetry event in Portsmouth held on a monthly basis called Tongues and Grooves with open mic slots for poets. We are this months featured musicians (how strange this thread should come up now, most helpful!). http://www.tongues-and-grooves.org.uk
but have been many times, it is a lovely event.

Tongues and Grooves was a great event last night, very good poets in attendance, music wasn't bad either! ;) Next one is on the 31st July and well worth a trip if you want an open mic spot to read a couple of poems.

Tut tut Tanza. Why do you feel the need to joke about such things. You know my last husband's sad demise was as a result of the top of his head coming off. I'm sure you only say these things in the hope I will hear about them and be upset. It's a good thing I can rise above all your nonsense. Silly girl.

Don't worry, Willow. Mrs West has a gift. I have seen the most fearsome of beasts become like pets when they are near her, and the fiercest of men become like little boys, weeping for need of a hug.

Her husband was not always known as Mr West. He was Orguest the Merciless. He and his armies had lain waste to 10 kingdoms before he encountered the good lady. When Orguest met her, the anguish and guilt of all he had done almost crushed his heart, until she lifted the burden from him.

She certainly did lift his burden..especially the weight of his fat, heavy wallet. Strange how he, along with so many other wealthy wanderers, have met their untimely end at her hands. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was, at this very moment, harbouring one or more of Grimney's enemies. I don't trust her.
